Ángel Camacho successfully defended his Master’s thesis at UC3M on 28 September 2022. During his thesis, he contributed to experimental design and execution, including resin synthesis, SLA 3D printing, and material characterization. He gained hands-on experience with infrared spectroscopy, NMR, X-ray analysis, TGA, DMA, cytotoxicity assays, optical and confocal microscopy, SEM, and other laboratory techniques relevant to biomaterials and tissue-engineering applications.

During his internship, he evaluated silicon nanowires as electroconductive biomaterials for cardiac tissue engineering. He prepared cardiac spheroids, optimized nanowire dispersion, and performed physico-chemical and biological characterizations using UV-Vis spectroscopy, SEM, Raman spectroscopy, and cytotoxicity assays, gaining hands-on experience in biomaterials research and cell culture techniques.

During his internship, he worked on 3D-printing polymer resins for biological applications, synthesizing resins, designing 3D-printed parts using CAD, and characterizing both uncured and printed materials. He gained hands-on experience with rheometry, differential scanning calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and other techniques to study the physical and biological properties of the materials.
